Walker Art Center Minneapolis Wedding // Sara & Nic

N

Nearly a year ago, Sara and Nic completed one of my photography dreams with their Walker Art Center wedding. It is by far one of my favorite wedding venues in Minneapolis! This gorgeous art museum has gorgeous, modern architecture, massive windows, white plaster walls, and hints of texture throughout the building. To be honest, that’s where I initially wanted to get married also! But my big, fat, Jewish-Greek wedding had a few too many on the invite list.

We started the morning at Sara’s apartment building. She’s a genius and asked the building for a vacant unit to use for a few hours while she got ready!  So with minimal furniture or any other distractions, Sara was an absolute vision as she got dressed in the sun beams. Afterwards, we met Nic at The Walker Art Center for their first look. There’s a super cool underground tunnel that they wanted to photograph in and it was perfect! We used the outdoor museum grounds and exterior architecture for as many portraits as possible. Given that the venue is an art museum, I shot a roll of black and white film. And of course, those are by far my most favorite images of the day. In the future, I’ll definitely be utilizing this more on special occasions.  So if film makes your heart flutter, let me know!

With a short ceremony and intimate dinner, the night was filled with so much love and joy! It was obvious that their two families embraced each other. At the end of the night we stepped outside to enjoy the sunset and a few pictures before the entire sky turned orange! I think there were actually tornadoes a bit further north, but for us it just provided an epic backdrop for an amazing wedding night.

I cannot wait for another Walker Art Center wedding! And now that COVID restrictions are easing up in Minnesota, hopefully we can explore a few more galleries. For now, scroll down and enjoy the loveliness!
