Mpls Intimate Portrait Session // Leah & Jordan
I. Love. Intimate, in-home sessions. By far some of my favorite portraits, for so many reasons. Let’s break it down.
1 – Your personal style. Engagement or portrait sessions should always represent you. I’ve said it so many times, but as much as you can infuse your own personality and style into your session, the better! And what better way to accomplish this than with an intimate session in your own home! Leah and Jordan recently bought their home AND adopted a sweet puppy, Bean! Everything in their home is perfectly their style: black, minimalistic, and charmingly badass. Speaking of badass, check out Leah’s cake business.
2 – Personal connection and comfort. Cuddling in public is adorable, but let’s be honest…it’s not your couch. I’m literally writing this on my own couch under a blanket next to my husband. During portrait sessions, I often say “cuddle like you’re on your couch”, but the real thing is so much better! It’s your bed, and your home, and your own personal cuddle spot. Leah and Jordan happen to be good friends of mine, but I’ve even done in-home sessions where I barely know the people! I promise I won’t judge your decor, all of the pet hair, or how old your couch is. All I need is to be let into the intimate parts of your life for an hour or so–and hopefully some window light!
3 – Safe location. Raining? Extra windy? Hella cold? It doesn’t matter! It is literally the only option with no other factors to consider. I know right now isn’t quite the time to envision going into someone’s home, but of course I wear a mask and keep as much of a distance as possible. Especially for kids that may get a bit cranky in the cold, I’d highly recommend in-home sessions.
Getting engaged over the holiday season? I’d highly recommend you consider an in-home session cuddling with your new fiancee! Still need to be convinced? Scroll down! And here are some more in-home sessions: Caitie & Calvin // Andersen Family
