MPLS Urban Engagement Session / Janna and Patrick

I really appreciate when clients trust me on locations for engagement photos. Especially with urban engagement sessions in Minneapolis, I don’t think there’s any other job where a contractor can say, “hey follow me down this dark alley and it’ll be great I promise!” Loading docks, fire escapes, large garage doors, dingy alleyways, and parking garage rooftops. All probably places that you’d find in a Dexter episode as well as an alternative engagement session. The architecture and texture just makes my heart swoon! (P.S., Dexter just announced a new season!!).

Thankfully Janna and Patrick didn’t run away when I suggested the plan! We started in the Warehouse District, made our way towards the Minneapolis Central Library, hung out by the Bob Dylan mural, and climbed a few staircases. We followed the sunshine, meandered down alleyways, and ended up on a parking garage rooftop! Pro tip: parking garages are sometimes the best way for those downtown, urban vibes. From there we drove to Boom Island Park, which has a gorgeous view of the Minneapolis skyline! Boom Island also has some of my favorite weed patches 🙂 Just scroll on and check out the sun streaks and warm summer vibes!

Janna and Patrick got married just last month at Paikka, and I can’t wait to share that with you as well! For now; thanks again for following me into a dark warehouse — for your engagement session, of course 😉
