If you ever wondered what my brand vibes were, check out Angelica and John’s Day Block Event Center wedding. Goats, rusty orange, tattoos, warehouse garage doors, and emotional vows…welcome to my heaven. I actually met Angelica quite a few years ago when I started working at Steller Hair Co.! For those who don’t know, I used to be a hairstylist as I built up my photography business. ANYWAYS, Angelica was one of my regular clients and I knew immediately she was awesome!! Pursuing her doctorate in Art History, from Buffalo, NY, and rocking a pixie cut, Angelica just kicks ass. And then one day she came in with a new tattoo of a goat.
Here’s where the story gets fun. At the time, I was part of a business referral group, although I was struggling to communicate my ideal client. After I saw Angelica’s tattoo, I told the whole group “this week I’m looking for people who LOVE GOATS.” It didn’t get me any business, but it did clarify that goat people are my people. And from there, my cute little logo was born!
Fast forward a few years to this past weekend at Day Block Event Center. Angelica and John infused everything they did with their personality–no surprise from what I knew of Angelica! What really captured my heart was they way Angelica and John looked at each other. From the first look to the dance, you can see how much they love each other just through quick glances–I know, cheesy, but it’s true. And to top it off, they truly respected the current Minnesota mask mandate (and even embraced it)!! The wedding party wore hand-sewn matching masks, everyone wore masks on the dance floor even though they were BUSTIN’ MOVES, and even the cake toppers wore masks! In a tiny little voice, they say “thank you.”
