Do you ever watch The Bachelor (or Bachelorette) and think “why do they always go on crazy adventures?! That’s not real life!” – – Even if you don’t watch the terrible, wonderful series, you know exactly what I’m talking about! – – It’s because adrenaline actually makes you more attracted to someone. WHAT? Yes. In studies where people were approached by strangers, those who met on a rickety bridge were more attracted to the strangers than those on regular ground. (Dutton and Aaron, 1973).
So how does that relate to engagement photos? Well, you don’t have to skydive or bungee jump or ride in a hot air balloon to have adrenaline! All you need is an adventure and someone to hold your hand and lead you to a new place (metaphorically and literally!) You will connect with your partner in a new way than just going to a park in the city! There are probably more studies on connecting with someone in nature, too. Insert research here. [ If you adventure together all the time, you’ll already know how fun it is! ]
And from a photography standpoint, as much as I love Minneapolis and other cities, you just can’t beat being in nature! On top of the gorgeous landscapes, textures, colors, and views, the lack of distractions always brings the focus back to you and your love.
So what did we learn? Let’s adventure together. Here’s inspiration from Ryan and Julie’s engagement session 🙂 Play this song while scrolling <3
